One of the things I love about Matters of the Heart is it's "do-ability". Most of us are busy-birds and unfortunately, we use busyness as a excuse not to commit more Scripture to memory. At just one scripture a week, Matters of the heart makes it easy. No more excuses! A beautiful resource for all women.
I'm not very good at memorizing scripture. So it is something that I try to avoid. Reading this book inspired me to give it another go. Life as a mom gets really busy but this is one spiritual discipline I don't want to neglect anymore. Carlie shares her heart on the pages of this book. She is so encouraging and authentic.
Being able to rattle off a few Scripture verses is nice, but if that’s all your Scripture memorization consists of you’re really missing out. Matters of the Heart contains solid Scripture, encouraging, relatable and applicable stories as well as 52 weekly challenges all designed to help you grow deeper in faith—not just knowledge. Would definitely recommend!
I had been looking for a new devotional type book for some time but I had a hard time finding something that fit in three categories I was looking for.
1) It couldn't be too labor intensive or require a ton of reading. I'm a Momma of four and I pretty much have no personal time.
2) It had to be something that would help me grow and be worthy of the time I have set aside for devotionals and bible reading. (what could be better than focusing on scripture.)
3) KJV Scripture
I'm happy to say that Matters of the Heart covered all my wants and even exceeded them. It is written with busy moms in mind and the author's voice is genuine and helpful. I'm so excited to continue on this journey over the next year.
